This said, it just barely passes this test and is dramatically weakened when immersed. Even the TiteBond folks don't recommend it for structural or immersed applications, partly because of the above, but mostly because of "creep" which is common with all the PVA adhesives.<br /><br />Interestingly enough, marine grade epoxy formulations don't pass the type 1 WBP test, so the US Navy (and other) suggest it's not waterproof, but unless you plan of parking your boat or bathroom subfloor over submerged, active volcanoes, it's about the best, most waterproof adhesive known for wood (bar none).<br /><br />This subject is quite extensive and fairly complex. It deserves some attention, particularly in light of the recent decent of plywood quality in the last decade.
